Elon Musk changed son’s name from X Æ A-12 to comply with law

Grimes has uncovered that she and Elon Musk need to change their child’s name to consent to California guidelines.

The Canadian singer, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, gave birth to her most memorable child with Musk on 4 May 2020.

Following the birth, Tesla and SpaceX director Musk declared the news in a post on Twitter, in which he likewise uncovered that their kid would be named “X Æ A-12 Musk”.

In any case, hypotheses arose that the strange last name might not comply with the law in California, where the couple resides.

According to California regulation, names at birth must be spelled “using the 26 sequential letters of the English language”, even though punctuation and runes may be included.

According to TMZ, just over a month after the couple reported the name change, the baby’s name was formally confirmed to World Support.

The birth announcement states that the baby’s most memorable name is “X”, its middle name is “AE A-XII” and its last name is “Musk”.

The couple revealed the significance behind their baby boy’s strange name.

Writing on Twitter, Grimes understood that the first “X” is a reference to an ambiguous variable commonly used in numerical schemes.

The “Æ” that follows is the Elven spelling for artificial intelligence, an abbreviation for man-made consciousness, and it means “love” in many dialects, such as Mandarin and Japanese.

Following is the name “A-12”, which Grimes believes to be an ancestor of the SR-71 airplane, which he and Musk like because it is “extraordinary in combat but peaceful”.

The N in “A-12” is also short for main celestial host, which Grimes says is her main song.

Musk later clarified the naming convention during a meeting on Joe Rogan’s digital broadcast.

During the meeting, the SpaceX organizer also acknowledged that Grimes was the person who chose the name, adding: “As a matter of importance, my partner is the person who actually, for the most part, coined the name.”
