Very audible ridicule for Lopetegui’s men.
Sanchez-Pizuan added three minutes. We watched almost the entire game without booking a single one, but Mir produced that particular copybook. When the pair fight for the ball he catches Akanji with a high boot and Mr. Massa considers the challenge worthy of the yellow.
Suso shot right after that, however, there was an awkward moment when Ederson threw the ball straight at the Spaniard who threw it behind the Brazilian and back into the net. Although it didn’t count, Dolberg was given the decision to interfere with the goalkeeper’s throw because he stood right behind him when he dropped it.
Januzaj cuts the byline of Suso’s right hand who makes his way into the shooting area. His effort is on target The first time Sevilla has been able to say this all night but for Ederson it is weak and easy. We are here waiting for the last whistle. Changes have been made for both teams for Riyad Mahrez and Calvin Phillips de Bruyne and Rodri while Adnan Januzaz makes his Sevilla debut. Isco leads.
This is Bono’s Smart Save. De Bruyne shows good vision to spray the ball from left to right where Cancillo is waiting to collect the ball and take it forward. Sevilla’s defenders allow the Portuguese to exit the box but Bono beats it! Looks like they may have postponed the inevitable. Looks like the city has got at least one more before it’s night.
Sevilla replaced Papu Gomez with Suso. A moment before that change, de Bruyne had a presentable chance to make it 4-0 but pushed his shot to 20 yards or so. Silva loses it and for a moment Sevilla thinks they have a chance to move on. Dolberg makes it into the Citi box but De Bruyne runs back to take possession.
Two changes for City are Cole Palmer and Julian Alvarez for goalscorers Foden and Haaland. Gol Haaland scores Sevilla 0-3 Manchester City. However, Haaland is waiting to catch the loose ball and convert it home. The game is definitely over.
At the other end, Dolberg tries to maneuver himself into the shooting space at the top of the City box but has too many Sky Blue shirts over him. Immediately Gundogan has the ball in the net but the flag is up. Foden leaped into space behind the box to down the German’s right wing which stroked it into the net from point-blank range. However, Foden was well offside when the ball was played into the ground.
City made their first substitution of the night, introducing Ilke Gundogan for Grealish. Objective Foden scores Sevilla 0-2 Manchester City. Sevilla is probably not in it anymore. It’s a darn sweet goal from Foden that takes the hosts in as if the home fans are really taking the atmosphere to a fever pitch. Receiving the ball inside the penalty area, Foden turns and turns again then hits a low shot to Bono’s left corner.
Sevilla made third change in place of Telles in place of Kasper Dolberg. Navas controls and crosses to the right, but Ederson is well prepared before Mir is caught though he arrows his ball into the edge of the six-yard box in the danger zone.
